Business Finance Roadshow

Better Business Finance is a scheme run by the UK's major banks, and endorsed by the British Bankers Association.  In 2011 they are taking the scheme nationally with a roadshow event, encompassing 15 cities.  Torpedo Factory Group Event Services were briefed by the BBA to put together a complete event package including technicians, a fixed but portable stage set, lighting, sound and projection, for the roadshow series they are holding in major cities throughout the UK.

The events enable local & small businesses to get face-to-face support from the UK's major national banks - Barclays, Santander, HSBC, Lloyds and RBS. There will be seminars, one-on-one surgeries and these will outline the regional business support available to the local business network.

Each event is co-sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce, and the speakers are from the major banking groups as well as Angela Knight, Chief Executive, British Bankers’ Association.

The brief involved designing a stage set that was adaptable in size, the idea being that each event had the same theme and impact regardless of the size of the venue, and the Events team had to ensure printing and storage of any set graphics for transport to each venue.

The team were also asked to supply four breakout rooms at each event equipped with a projector and screen, and the proposal included equipment hire, travel, transport & accommodation costs.

To date, Gordon AV, the Torpedo Factory Group Event Services team, commenced with the Edinburgh event and will be servicing the other regional cities in turn.  The tour schedule is available on the Better Business Finance website
